Building the Business Case for Clinical Research in the Care Setting

Dr. Marianne Hamilton Lopez is the Senior Research Director of Biomedical Innovation, an adjunct associate professor, and core faculty at the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy in Washington, DC. She leads the strategic design and direction of the Center’s Biomedical Innovation portfolio, with a focus on medical products development and regulation, real world evidence, infectious disease preparedness, and payment, pricing, and coverage of drugs and medical devices.

Donna M. O’Brien, MHA, is a National Advisor with Manatt Health providing strategy development and program implementation advice to healthcare providers and research institutes. Prior to this, Donna served as Consultant to the Director of the NCI for nine years to support the development and implementation of a new program model for cancer care delivery and research expansion in 30 hospitals in 22 states. She was a member of the team that designed the NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP). She was also an executive at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and Executive Vice President of the Catholic Health Long Island.

Henry Wei, MD, is Executive Director, Development Innovation at Regeneron, aimed at accelerating clinical research. Dr Wei previously worked at Google, the White House, Aetna, and McKinsey. Dr Wei has co-authored several patents on applied artificial intelligence in healthcare and on real-world data, outcomes and drug safety. He earned his MD at Cornell, his graduate and undergraduate degrees at Harvard University, and did additional informatics training at Stanford and Harvard.Dr Wei is an adjunct faculty member at Weill-Cornell Medicine in Health Policy and Research. He currently leads TransCelerate’s pragmatic trials workstream within the Real-World Data initiative.
