Victoria Gray was the 1st Sickle Cell Anemia patient in the world to be treated with CRISPR gene editing in 2019. After a lifetime of pain, treatments, and hospitalizations for Sickle Cell Disease, she is now symptom-free, working as a patient advocate and international speaker to spread the word about CRISPR and rare diseases to clinicians, scientists, patients, and students. Mrs Gray is a wife and mother of three children and lives in Forest, Mississippi.

Youssef Idelcaid is the Head of the AI Research Center at Gilead Sciences, where he leads enterprise AI strategy and the deployment of transformative technologies across the drug development lifecycle. His career spans multiple industries—including biotech (Genentech), cosmetics (L’Oréal), fashion (Levi’s), and the food industry (Danone)—giving him a unique cross-sector perspective on the power of AI to drive innovation in complex, regulated environments. Youssef holds an engineering degree in applied mathematics and computing from École Polytechnique Universitaire de Lyon. He is passionate about designing systems that combine science, technology, and strategy to improve outcomes for patients and society.

David Carruthers joined AstraZeneca in 2024 and is the Vice President of BioPharmaceuticals and Global Head of Clinical Operations. David leads global operations related to the conduct and delivery of AstraZeneca Biopharmaceuticals Clinical Trials. David is also responsible for data management and insights across the AstraZeneca Clinical Trials portfolio. Jonathan has over 20 years of multidisciplinary experience in regulated medical products (drugs, biologics, medical devices, and combination products) at multiple global companies, with practical experience in drug delivery-focused Development/Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs for various combination product types. His specialties include digital health (including smart packaging/connected devices and software as a medical device, or SaMD) and in vitro diagnostics, along with clinical development (bridging) and lifecycle management for combination products. Jonathan earned his BS in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and is ASQ certified as a Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence and a Quality Engineer. In his "free time,", Jonathan engages with the global combination product community by speaking at conferences, lecturing in courses, serving key roles within prominent industry organizations, and interfacing with regulators on a variety of topics.

Yi Hong, PhD is a clinical data scientist with a strong foundation in AI-driven operational analytics, trial design and real-world data. Currently Associate Director at Gilead Sciences, he co-leads strategic initiatives to evaluate the impact of the Gilead Trial AI. His work includes developing operational metrics, leveraging real-world data for protocol design, and AI agentic solution to forecast and optimize trial enrollment. Previously, Yi was a Data Scientist at Verana Health, where he built scalable data quality infrastructure for EHR platform. His earlier leadership at Topchoice Medical in China included founding a Center of Operational Excellence, where he led cross-functional teams to implement AI/ML solutions for patient journey mapping, treatment optimization, and predictive modeling. Yi holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and has published in applied physics and nanoelectronics. His interdisciplinary expertise bridges clinical research, health tech innovation, and advanced analytics, making him a key contributor to the future of AI-enabled clinical trials.
