Lorenzo Galluzzi, PhD is Associate Professor in the Cancer Signaling and Microenvironment Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center (Philadelphia, PA). He also holds academic appointments at Yale School of Medicine and several institutions in Italy, including the Universities of Ferrara, Padova, and Rome “La Sapienza.”
Prior to joining Fox Chase in 2024, Dr. Galluzzi served as Assistant Professor of Cell Biology in Radiation Oncology at Weill Cornell Medical College (2017–2024), following scientific roles in France at the Cordeliers Research Center, Gustave Roussy Comprehensive Cancer Center, and a PhD from the University Paris Sud.
Dr. Galluzzi is internationally recognized for his pioneering research in cell death, autophagy, tumor metabolism, and immunology—particularly the link between cancer stress responses and immune activation. He has authored over 600 peer-reviewed publications and has been named a Highly Cited Researcher multiple times by Clarivate Analytics across disciplines including immunology, molecular biology, and pharmacology.
He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of OncoImmunology, Molecular and Cellular Oncology, Methods in Cell Biology, and International Review of Cell and Molecular Biology, and holds editorial roles with numerous other scientific journals.
