Dr Derek O'Hagan is currently a Senior Advisor in GSK Vaccines R&D and a Senior Fellow. Prior to Dr O'Hagan’s current role he was the Global Head of Discovery Support and New Technology in GSK Vaccines. Previously, he was VP, Global Head of Vaccine Chemistry and Formulation for Novartis Vaccines. Dr O'Hagan has extensive experience on Vaccine Adjuvants, including R&D on several included in licensed products, and he was a member of the Team that initiated RNA vaccines in Novartis Vaccines (2009). Additionally, Dr O'Hagan is a Fellow of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. He was awarded the Conference Science medal of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, and the Young Investigator Research Achievement Award of the Controlled Release Society. Dr O'Hagan was once named as the ‘most inventive scientist’ in Chiron. He proudly has 175 peer reviewed publications (h-index 104, Google Scholar) and has been named inventor on >70+ patents.

John Lewis is the Bird Dogs Chair in Translational Oncology at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta. As a scientist and serial entrepreneur, he pioneered the use of intravital imaging in the in vivo study of tumour cell invasion and metastasis to discover key targets for cancer therapeutics. Dr Lewis also develops novel nanotechnology, nanoparticle drug delivery technologies, and imaging-based treatments for chronic diseases, such as aging and cancer, as well as for early detection of cancers. Dr Lewis trained at The Scripps Research Institute and received a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Victoria.

Namal Nawana is a business leader and Healthcare Investor and Entrepreneur with a particular focus in the Medical Devices and Diagnostics industry. Mr Nawana is the Chairman and Founder of Neoenta, a wholly owned private company with ownership interests and intellectual property assets in healthcare. He is the Executive Chairman and Founder of Sapphiros (www.sapphiros.com) a consumer diagnostics company in partnership with leading global Private Equity firm KKR. He has previously founded or co- founded several medical technology and in-vitro diagnostics companies including Graphene-Dx, Satio and Neoenta Design. He is the author of extensive US and international patents and select peer reviewed scientific articles. Through his design firm Neoenta Design, he has personally led the design of numerous technologies most recently the blood draw and detection patches and drug delivery and self-vaccination patches that form the portfolio of the Satio corporation. Before joining Alere, he spent more than 15 years at Johnson & Johnson in progressively senior leadership roles globally, including the role of Worldwide President of Johnson & Johnson’s multibillion dollar DePuy-Synthes Spine business. Mr Nawana is a member of the advisory board of JHPiego, a Johns Hopkin affiliate supporting maternal care in low income countries. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of Hologic, Inc. a Nasdaq listed company, Advamed and separately Advamed -Dx the peak industry associations of the Medical Device and Diagnostics industries and Malaria no More an organization dedicated to the reduction in mortality and eradication of Malaria. Mr. Nawana holds an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Medical Science from the University of Adelaide, South Australia, as well as an MBA from Henley Management College.
