Optimizing the Integration of Mobile, Patient-Facing Technologies in Clinical Trials for Accessibility and Flexibility

Christopher Dell, MBA, is a member of the Patient Technologies team at Pfizer where he is responsible for the successful implementation of eData clinical technology – mainly focused on eCOA but also supporting connected devices. Mr Dell has been with Pfizer for almost 8 years. Prior to his current engagement at Pfizer, Mr Dell spent over 5 years at 2 different ePRO vendors, managing the successful implementation of various projects in device-based, IVR and IWR modalities. Mr Dell was also with Wyeth for 4 years and Pfizer for 2 years between 2006 – 2012 as part of a team that defined the ePRO standards at the time.

Patrick Floody, MBA, is the Head of the Global Clinical Trial Services group at Regeneron where he is responsible for global site management, central monitoring, study feasibility and site selection, study/site start up, eCOA and patient technology initiatives. He has been with Regeneron for just over 3 years.Mr Floody spent 25 years at Pfizer, with most of his time spent in clinical program operations but also included time in GCP Quality (level 1) and Analytics. He has extensive international experience in drug development and helped establish the Pfizer country office development teams in Latin America, India and other parts of Asia. Subsequently, he spent 10 years in Pfizer’s Development Japan organization as Head of Japan Development Operations and Development Japan Portfolio & Project Management Groups. He was the recipient of Pfizer’s PGRD Achievement Award in 2007.Mr Floody is a former officer in the U.S. Army and is a veteran of the first Gulf War. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Rhode Island and a Master of Business Administration from Temple University.

At Novartis, Jennifer Yip’s mission is to find novel approaches to leveraging data and technology to design better clinical trials, accelerate patient recruitment, drive patient engagement, and re-imagine clinical trial data collection and management for the US Medical Affairs organization. Before joining Novartis, Ms Yip held global clinical and commercial digital innovation roles at other big pharma and led global product marketing in eClinical, healthcare, and ad tech technology organizations.

Kai Bode is a Principle Scientist at Merck Research Laboratories (MRL). In his role, Mr Bode supports the evaluation and implementation of digital health technologies for clinical research in an effort to mitigate the risk and maximize the potential of innovative solutions.
