Karla Sanchez leads a team of subject matter experts at CDP, supporting the Healthcare sector across a broad range of bioengineering specialties. With over thirteen years of experience in medical device development, she brings technical depth and strategic insight to complex health innovation projects.
For the past six years, Karla has focused on drug delivery, with particular expertise in targeting the central nervous system (CNS). She leads efforts in drug delivery to the brain, working at the intersection of biology, engineering, and clinical need to overcome barriers to effective CNS therapies.
She holds a PhD focused on the distribution of blood and cerebrospinal fluid in the brain and spinal cord, and has collaborated with clinicians and academics to develop physiological models of the brain, kidneys and lungs.
Karla is also an honorary researcher at Imperial College London, maintaining active links with academia and providing guidance to postgraduate students.
