Tony Fantana is Global Regulatory Affairs Innovation and Technology Lead at Eli Lilly and Company. He is passionate about creatively solving high unmet medical need problems by assembling, leading, and developing great teams. At Eli Lilly, he is responsible for executing pilots and proof-of-concept studies, exploring new ideas for clinical designs and models, and prioritizing capabilities for broad scaling. Prior to this role, he founded and led the Global Patient Safety Analytics and Innovation Hub. Dr Fantana spearheaded the push to better monitor health by remote means in clinical trials, for which he received a Lilly Innovation Award.
Dr Fantana trained at Harvard Medical School, where he received a PhD in Neuroscience. He worked as a management consultant, started and led the Movement Lab as an Assistant Professor at Bowling Green State University, served as a visiting scientist and visiting professor at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brown University, and founded and led a medical device company. When not in the office, Dr Fantana can be found cross-country skiing, biking, or hiking with his family, and mentoring the middle school robotics team.
