A graduate of Butler University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, Craig Davenport has worked for Eli Lilly and Company for over 30 years. He is responsible for Lilly’s global Site Engagement organization. This strategic function selects and manages investigators for Lilly’s global portfolio of clinical trials. Mr Davenport recently returned to the US from China where for 4 years he led planning and execution of the clinical research supporting approval new medicines in China.Over his career he has held several other positions including Senior Director of Clinical Project Management where he led the organization that provides trial management and project management oversight to all of Lilly’s late phase clinical research. From 2003 through 2007, he led R&D activities for Lilly’s Japan affiliate. As Managing Executive Officer & Director of Drug Development for Eli Lilly Japan K. K. his responsibilities spanned project management, regulatory affairs, and domestic CM&C activities. He chaired the Japan research & development portfolio management committee, project governance committee, and supervised R&D Six Sigma activities. Prior to moving to Japan, Mr Davenport was Chief Operations Officer on the Cialisä Product Team during which time the team was chosen as Product Team of the Year. Mr Davenport began his career with Eli Lilly in anti-infectives clinical research.Mr Davenport received the Lilly Research Laboratories President’s Award, the Excellence in Alliance Practice Award, and was one of twelve employees selected to serve on the first Lilly President’s Council.
