Hilary Wilson, PhD, has 10+ years of experience in patient-centered research, and specializes in evidence generation to support the overall value of a medical product from the patient’s perspective. She is currently the Director of Patient Engagement at Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) in the Patient Affairs and Engagement Center of Excellence. In this role, she supports the advancement of patient engagement methods and approaches, and the evolution of the organization’s systematic approach to patient-focused drug development. In her research tenure, she has conducted patient surveys, interviews, and focus groups to understand patient unmet needs and burden of illness; conducted clinical trials evaluating the efficacy of different treatment modalities; and, conducted research studies to evaluate the measurement properties of various clinical outcome assessments both in clinical practice and clinical trials. Dr Wilson received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and her master’s and doctoral degree in experimental psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington, in Arlington, Texas. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship in anesthesiology and pain medicine at the University of Washington, in Seattle, Washington.
