Dr Eva Gallagher is a nurse practitioner with a PhD in nursing from the University of Minnesota. Currently serving as Vice President, Head of Global Medical Affairs at Agios Pharmaceuticals, Dr Gallagher is responsible for oversight of Scientific Communications, Publications, Patient Advocacy, Medical Information, Operations and Medical Science Liaisons supporting rare genetic diseases with teams in the US, Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and the MENA region. Additionally, she is responsible for driving medical strategy and oversight of a team of medical directors across multiple therapeutic areas including pyruvate kinase deficiency, thalassemia, sickle cell disease, and myelodysplastic syndrome.

Pol Boudes, M.D., is the Chief Medical Officer at Rectify Pharma. Prior to joining Rectify, he served as Chief Medical Officer of Galectin Therapeutics, where he advanced belapectin to Phase 3 development for the treatment of liver cirrhosis. He previously served as Chief Medical Officer at CymaBay Therapeutics, where he led all pipeline programs, including seladelpar for the treatment of primary biliary cholangitis, and supported the completion of multiple financing rounds. Prior to CymaBay, he served as Chief Medical Officer of Amicus Therapeutics, where he pioneered the development of chaperone therapies for the treatment of lysosomal storage disorders. Earlier in his career, he held senior international roles at Bayer, Wyeth-Ayerst Research and Roche. Pol is a board member of Protalix Biotherapeutics. Pol brings more than thirty years of R&D, clinical, medical affairs, and biotech leadership experience and is a board-certified physician in endocrinology and metabolic diseases with specialization in internal medicine and geriatric diseases. He received his M.D. from the University of Marseille, France.

Sachiyo Minegishi is the Chief Operating Officer at Rectify. Prior to Rectify, Sachiyo served as Chief Financial Officer at Akouos, Inc., where she helped lead the acquisition of the company by Eli Lily.

Previously, Sachiyo was Vice President, Global Program Lead at bluebird bio and in charge of leading a cross-functional team through global development for a portfolio of gene therapies for Sickle Cell Disease. Earlier, Sachiyo held leadership roles at Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, Human Genome Sciences, Genzyme, and Amgen. Sachiyo began her career in investment banking at Merrill Lynch, with a focus on the execution of equity financing and mergers and acquisitions in the biotechnology industry. Sachiyo earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Kristen Wangerin, PhD, is a Senior Imaging Technology Leader in the GEHC Pharmaceutical Diagnostics Research and Development team. She is responsible for the imaging strategy as part of clinical studies for GEHC PET radiotracers in development and is passionate about translating novel PET imaging agents into the clinic, thereby helping enable precision medicine and improvement in patient outcomes. Dr. Wangerin has been with GEHC for 20 years. Prior to her current role, she was a valued member of the PET/CT and PET/MR engineering teams designing new systems and shaping research collaborations. She received her PhD in Bioengineering from University of Washington, and her BS and MS in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, respectively.

Greg Goldmacher, MD, PhD, MBA has been at Merck since 2015. With his team of physicians and scientists, he oversees imaging and pathology-based endpoints in ~280 clinical trials in oncology and other therapeutic areas. He also leads research in novel approaches to clinical trial imaging, including radiomics, tumor growth kinetics, and novel response criteria. In addition, he supports various business development, data standardization, and educational activities. Prior to Merck, he was a senior medical director and head of oncology imaging at a global CRO, and before that in academia. His clinical training was in diagnostic radiology, along with a PhD and postdoctoral research in neuroscience, and business training in finance.

Sharon Rivera-Sanchez is the Founder and Chief Executive Director of Trials of Color & Saving Pennies 4 A Cure, both are non-profits 501-C3 organizations founded in 2018, and Trials of Color in 2022. The mission is to educate, advocate, and empower cancer patients with a primary focus on Diversity in Clinical trials, awareness, and prevention.

Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, in 2015, Rivera-Sanchez was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She has participated in five medical clinical trials. She successfully completed two, withdrew from two, and she is currently involved in one.

Unfortunately, in 2021 Sharon became a caregiver for her brother who passed away from colon cancer. She is currently a voice for the voiceless, she speaks about colon cancer awareness and screening in the black community. She is also a 2022 Project Lead graduate. Rivera-Sanchez has lobbied US Congressmen and collaborated with local advocates in order to achieve health equity for the African American community.

Vipul Baxi, Executive Director at Amgen, excels in computational pathology, digital imaging, and biomarker research. With a biomedical engineering background and an MBA from NYU Stern, he leads AI-driven biomarker discovery, pathology informatics strategies, and precision medicine initiatives.

Qing Yu Christina Weng, MD is a physician-scientist and Chief Medical Officer of Pelage Pharmaceuticals, a regenerative medicine company developing innovative treatments for hair loss by targeting stem cell metabolism. She is also a board-certified dermatologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital and faculty at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Weng brings a background in business development and corporate startup strategy as Head of Business Development & Strategy of Kira Pharmaceuticals, a global company developing complement therapeutics. She co-founded Mymiel, a high-performance clean skincare line, where she served as Chief Strategy Officer. She is on the Board of Directors for the Dermatology Innovation Forum and the Dermatology Summit. She is on the Advisory Board for Immunis, a regenerative medicine company developing secretomes for age-related dysfunction. Dr. Weng holds an undergraduate degree from the California Institute of Technology, MD Magna Cum Laude from Harvard, and she completed dermatology residency, postdoctoral training, and fellowship at Harvard. She has received research grants and awards from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, American Skin Association, American Dermatological Association, and National Institutes of Health.

Dr David Lebwohl is chief medical officer at Intellia Therapeutics, a genome editing company. In that role, he and his team brought to the clinic two in vivo gene knock out therapies: NTLA-2001 targeting TTR for ATTR-amyloidosis and NTLA-2002 targeting prekallikrein for hereditary angioedema. Both are now in phase 3 registrational studies. Dr Lebwohl’s career spans three decades in the biopharmaceutical industry, successfully bringing novel medicines through all phases of clinical trials and global regulatory approvals. During his career, he oversaw multiple full-scale development programs with more than 200 clinical studies across myriad indications. Before Intellia, Dr Lebwohl was chief medical officer at Semma Therapeutics, where he was leading the company’s regenerative medicine efforts. Prior to Semma, Dr Lebwohl held senior-level positions leading drug development at Novartis Pharmaceuticals. While there, Dr Lebwohl served as senior vice president and franchise global program head and was responsible for the development of the breakthrough therapy Kymriah® (tisagenlecleucel), approved for the treatment of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia and diffuse large B cell lymphoma, and for Afinitor®, approved for tuberous sclerosis and multiple oncology indications. Dr Lebwohl received an undergraduate degree from Harvard College and M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and his fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Aiken has over two decades of experience in government relations. She began her career as a young aide for a D.C.-based boutique lobbying firm focused on agriculture, she soon after pivoted to health care where she has spent close to two decades. The confluence of agriculture and health care provide unique insight and an extensive network for her work at BIO. Aiken joined BIO in 2018 as the Director of Federal Government Relations and in 2024, she was promoted to Senior Vice President of Federal Government Affairs. Throughout her tenue at BIO, she has played a significant role in developing and driving BIO’s federal advocacy and political strategy in areas of patient access and affordability, regulatory affairs, infectious diseases policy, agriculture, intellectual property, and capital formation. Prior to joining BIO, Aiken spent more than a decade in various government affairs roles within the physician community, both in Washington and Atlanta, GA, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Rheumatology, and the Medical Association of Georgia. In those roles, Hackett built and assembled coalition networks to advance advocacy efforts by bringing together providers, patient advocacy organizations and key external stakeholders. An Atlanta native, Hackett received a B.A. in both history and political science, and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in public policy, from the University of Georgia. She resides in Washington, D.C.

Dr Kirsteen (Kirsty) Maclean is a Principal Scientist within Scientific Affairs at NeoGenomics with over 20 years of leadership experience addressing academic, clinical, biotechnology, CROs, and pharmaceutical industries through clinical/technical communication, sales support, and market intelligence. Before joining NEO, Dr Maclean was the Senior Scientific Director at Ultivue overseeing digital pathology applications using multiplexed immunofluorescence technology for improved biomarker identification to advance performance of translational workflows and how we think about clinical trial design in the future. Previously, Dr Maclean held leadership roles in commercial development and scientific communications at TelesisBio, Definiens (now part of AstraZeneca), Nanostring and ThermoFisher Scientific. With over 35 peer reviewed publications and several book chapters, she holds a PhD in Hematology from University College London and a BS (Hons) in Biochemistry from Glasgow Caledonian University and extensive academic clinical leadership experience from St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital in Memphis TN.
