Dr Ben Geelan currently leads the Strategic Operational Intelligence team at Roche, focusing on developing and integrating innovative strategies and solutions to optimise R&D productivity across the organisation. With a diverse background in academic research, software development, and medtech consulting, he has focused on enhancing strategic decision and insight capabilities, ensuring that patient value and perspectives are at the forefront of R&D decision making.

Gordon Gregory’s 16-year career in the Pharmaceutical industry has spanned a range of roles at ICON Clinical Research and Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine. The constant throughline throughout his work in Clinical Trial Operations & Oversight, Clinical Supplies Operations (primarily in Advanced Therapies) and leading the Center for Adaptive Work Design has been a drive to lead innovation in the way that Clinical Trials are operationalized. From participating in the core team that rolled out an entirely new TMF system at J&J IM, to leading the development of new processes, systems and roles to manage the launch of the CAR-T therapy platform, he has constantly thrived in those spaces where keen operational insights meet innovative technologies and ways of working. Most recently, back in his previous role as a Trial Delivery Leader, he is piloting the utilization of the Workflow Hub as a new and adaptive way of collaborating within the complex and matrixed Team of Teams ecosystem to delivering portfolio outcomes.

Gordon earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Music Composition and Biblical Theology and continues to pursue music as a creative outlet, having released two albums of original music.

Based in Hatfield, PA, he is also involved in a variety of DEI initiatives both in and outside of work and enjoys spending time with his partner and their kids in their queer blended family.

Dr Mitchell Katz recently joined Kyowa Kirin, Inc. as Senior Vice President, Global Clinical Operations. In this position, he is responsible for leading the strategic and operational framework of Kyowa Kirin’s clinical development programs within the Global Development Organization. He provides leadership and oversight of the clinical operations team in North America, the European Union, and Japan. Dr Katz also ensures operational excellence and continuous improvement of processes in all clinical operations activities.

Dr Katz has over 25 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, including preclinical and clinical research, pharmaceutical operations, and regulatory affairs. Prior to joining Kyowa Kirin, Inc. he served as Vice President, Development Operations at Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Inc. He also served as Head of Clinical Research and Drug Safety Operations at Purdue Pharma L.P. Dr Katz has experience working in start-up biotechnology companies, including Acorda Therapeutics, InterMune, Connetics, and NABI. He also held management positions at Eisai, Ortho Biotech and Schering-Plough and participated in seven successful NDA submissions in his professional career.

Dr Katz holds a BA in Biology, a PhD in Microbiology, and served as a postdoctoral research fellow at Downstate Medical Center in NY.

Lisa Kiehne is the Senior Vice President for Clinical Operations at The START Center for Cancer Research. By way of background, Ms Kiehne holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University, with a 16 year career in cancer service line leadership and research operations.

Prior to her role at START, Ms Kiehne worked for Houston Methodist and HCA/ Sarah Cannon, leading the cancer service line in strategy, operations, and program-building for comprehensive cancer programs including early-phase research programs, preclinical research programs, and hematological malignancy research programs. Ms Kiehne has led the development and implementation of essential systems, such as an ERP system in the Research Institute and an EMR and CTMS system in the Cancer Center. Additionally, Ms Kiehne spearheaded a significant recruitment and development plan to deepen research infrastructure and expand clinical capabilities towards NCI designation.

She has a proven track record of fostering growth and global partnerships, representing the organization by opening new START sites and building collaborative relationships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

Christopher Lamplugh is Associate Vice President and Head of Global Data Management and Standards (GDMS) at Merck & Co., Inc.

GDMS provides Clinical Data Management services for ESD and LSD trials, including data standards, eClinical Interactive Response Technology (IRT), Clinical Outcomes Assessment (COA), Pharmacovigilance Case Processing, and other technical business enablement operations.

Over his 20-year career at Merck, Mr Lamplugh has also led the creation, expansion, and operationalization of the company’s Data Management Centers (DMCs). Located strategically in centers around the globe, the Merck DMC network provides world-class Data Management (DM) deliverables and Pharmacovigilance case process requirements for the company. As Head of Global Data Management and Standards, Mr Lamplugh has sponsored several transformative programs positively impacting the Clinical Development ecosystem and accelerating patient benefit.

Prior to his career at Merck, Mr Lamplugh worked for General Electric for 10 years in Sales Management, Sales Force Effectiveness, and Quality. He is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and is active in many industry initiatives and forums within the pharmaceutical industry. He has a BA from Ursinus College and an MBA from Penn State, with coursework in Health Policy from Jefferson University. Mr Lamplugh resides in Philadelphia with his wife and 4 children and enjoys saltwater fishing in his free time.

After receiving a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University Dr Lindsey Crawford completed a PhD from Cornell University in the school of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Dr Crawford’s PhD thesis work was under Dr. David Putnam where she focused on targeted drug delivery to the blood brain barrier using P-glycoprotein as a target. She then joined the lab of Dr. Shelly Sakiyama-Elbert as a postdoctoral researcher at Washington University in St. Louis working on biomaterials for regenerative medicine prior to becoming a Senior Scientist at Pfizer. Since joining Pfizer Dr Crawford has been involved in drug product development of multiple modalities used to treat a variety of therapeutic indications. She has worked in development stages pre-clinical through commercial and now has a role where she facilitates strategic conversations between key stakeholders during the drug product development stages to ensure the best possible product is reaching our patients. Dr Crawford also has a passion for career development, and as a group leader aims to foster growth in those around her through the day to day work we do.

Leticia Murray currently serves in the role of Innovation Capability Associate Director of Diversity in Clinical Trials in Novartis Global Clinical Operations. Ms Murray bring more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, during which she has focused on global patient recruitment strategy and improving access for under-represented populations at the vendor and site level. Ms Murray obtained her MBA from Darden School of Business and has since focused her efforts on product development and long-term strategy.

Dr Javier Muñoz has over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr Muñoz is currently Technology Evaluation Leader in the Global Strategy department at Roche (Basel, Switzerland), where he is responsible for the strategic evaluation of formulation and device technologies to improve access to innovative drugs through development and commercialization of customer-centric solutions. 

Prior to his current role Dr Muñoz has held different positions in Drug Development. His extensive expertise in clinical development includes the design, management and evaluation of clinical studies, the marketing authorization application and the management of the portfolio of global strategic projects to enable efficient drug development processes. In addition to his work in the industry, Dr Muñoz is a lecturer in the Complutense University (Madrid, Spain) and the University of Navarra (Pamplona, Spain) focusing on the areas of industry outlook and business intelligence, product strategy, market access and clinical development. He holds a degree in Pharmacy from the Complutense University of Madrid. Dr Muñoz obtained a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the same university and an MBA from IE Business School.

As Director, Product Management, Digital Health, Lauren works to integrate Digital Health Solutions into BMS's Clinical Research portfolio.  Previously at BMS, Lauren was a Business Partnering and Strategy lead for Clinical Technologies, Digital Health and Innovation.  Prior to BMS, Lauren led and built Strategic Partnerships programs at Trialbee and AiCure; and worked in Project Management at Epic.  Lauren's professional focus is dedicated to leveraging technology to gain powerful patient-centered insights that lead to improved access to higher quality healthcare.  Lauren resides in New York, New York and studied Ecology and Evolutionary Biology as a pre-medicine student at Tulane University in New Orleans.
