Nichola Gokool has deep understanding of the medical communications market with over 17 years’ experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry and has been with Parexel for 12 years. She works as a Senior Director, Patient Partnerships and has supported a number of patient-centric activities, including the formation of the Parexel Patient Advisory Council in 2019. Mr Gokool is passionate about driving innovation in patient and physician communication activities ensuring we can adapt to and respond to the evolving needs of our important clinical trial stakeholders. Prior to working in the healthcare industry, she trained as a Dietitian and worked in adult and pediatric dietetics for a number of large London teaching hospitals, including Guy’s and St Thomas’. Ms Gokool holds a First Class BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Surrey, UK and a Professional Diploma in Marketing. She regularly publishes at medical communication conferences. She was appointed on the ISMPP Board of Trustees (2022) and serves as co-chair on the ISMPP Patient Engagement Taskforce.

Karen Ivester has over twenty-five (25) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and is a Registered Nurse (RN) with a master’s degree. She has spent twenty-three (23) years working in Oncology clinical research and drug development across CROs, biotech, pharmaceutical, community-based research, and academic cancer center environments. She has an insider’s view of operations within multiple clinical research centers. She has extensive experience in leading high functioning Project and Clinical Operations teams in portfolio delivery of highly complex trials (Umbrella, Basket, Immuno-Oncology and Cell & Gene Therapy). She is PMP certified and has taught and mentored project managers, research nurses and other research personnel as they gained clinical research experience and certifications. Karen is also a Certified Life Coach and uses this knowledge to mentor and develop teams and individual contributors.

Dr Nadir Ammour brings more than 20 years’ experience in managing global projects in clinical development. He is working to bring eHealth/Digital innovation in clinical development to deliver new medicines to patients faster. He led several projects in that space such as the Verkko remote trial, wearables trials, use of electronic health records for research and is now leading efforts at bridging care and research. Dr Ammour was a member of the Executive Committee of the EHR4CR consortium project and led the EHR2EDC consortia. He is presently working on several consortia projects to advance the concept of clinical trials as a treatment option.

Pavlos Msaouel, MD, PhD, is a clinician and cancer biologist dedicated to translational research for the treatment of genitourinary malignancies, Department of Genitourinary Medical Oncology, Division of Cancer Medicine, at MD Anderson Cancer Center. 

Sarah Lucas-Eaton is the Patient Strategy Director at Lumanity, where our goal is for patients to be recognized as formal partners and stakeholders in medicine development and healthcare. Ms Lucas-Eaton works closely with our client and patient partners to develop actionable strategies that embed the patient voice and patient engagement across the drug development process. Ms Lucas-Eaton passionately believes that storytelling is one of the most powerful educational tools we have.

Kate Moss joined Baringa as a partner in 2019 to lead our Pharmaceuticals and Lifesciences practice. She brings with her over 30 years of industry experience and a strong mix of advisory and delivery skills. She is deeply influenced by her first decade in industry which underpins her focus on what really matters, her desire to improve performance and collaboration to deliver growth.
