About Patients as Partners EU
Patients as Partners EU is the first European event dedicated to:
The 2021 program was co-produced with industry, patient advocacy and public sector voices, providing the know-how to turn ideas into action. Set against the backdrop of COVID-19 and the new normal in clinical research, the program highlighted the critical need to involve patients in every aspect of R&D, including decentralized trials which can also support diverse representation.
What Attendees Walked Away With:
- A range of examples of patient engagement ideas in the early stages of research to advance clinical outcomes
- An understanding of how to design hybrid trials around patient preferences to drive better enrollment and retention
- How to increase diversity in clinical trials
- How to manage the issues that arise when implementing new approaches
- How to influence organizational change to support patient engagement and clinical research awareness strategies
- Expand your professional network by connecting with peers who can provide a wide range of insights
- Learn directly from patient advocates who bring a broad spectrum of ideas to the conversations

Why Now?
As more pharma and biotechs implement aspects of decentralized clinical trials due to the pandemic, more patients are able to get access to clinical research. For 2021, Patients as Partners Europe reported on the outcome and learnings of decentralized trials and how they are benefiting patients, how to close the gaps of vast underrepresentation, how pharma is supporting patient groups during Covid-19, how to include the patient voice in the pre-clinical phase, and understanding the challenges faced by carers.
It is our job to provide you with the best virtual conference experience. We presented Patients as Partners US in August to a global audience with a warm interactive exchange of peer-to-peer learning with the most patient representation and look forward to building on that for January 25-26, 2021. Let us know if you have any questions.
Join the conversation early and become part of the Patients as Partners EU community by following us on LinkedIn and by following the conference hashtag #PatientsEU2021.
