Conference Forum Summer Outing to the Bronx Zoo
July 12, 2015
This year our Conference Forum team voted for a day at the Bronx Zoo for a relaxing summer outing. We met at Columbus Circle for breakfast and drove up along the Hudson river to one of the best zoos in the world! Believe me, we have seen many.
It was a lot of fun just relaxing and hanging along side with so many of our wonderful fellow species. Our favorites included the gorillas and their adorable babies, tree kangaroos, Malayan tapirs, prairie dogs, lemurs, and the giant anteater.
The Bronx zoo first opened its doors to the public on November 8, 1899, featuring 843 animals in 22 exhibits. Today it houses some 6,000 animals representing about 650 species from around the world.
It is always great to step out of the day-to-day work world and do something different and thought provoking especially when its a lot of fun. For more information on the Bronx Zoo, visit: http://bronxzoo.com/.
