Conference Forum Joined March for Science on April 22

  • April 24, 2017

  • Members of the Conference Forum team proudly marched through the Upper West Side of Manhattan on April 22 in March for Science. We wanted to contribute to a global movement to defend the vital role science plays in our health, safety, economies, and governments.

As a research firm devoted to the advancement of life sciences and in particular, drug development, we feel this was an opportunity to voice to the public that science is crucial to solving some of our biggest health care challenges and we need the support from our elected leadership in taking this seriously. The proposed budget cuts to the National Institutes of Health of 18.3 percent, about $5.8 billion to help fight against disease is not acceptable. We marched in support of patients, the life science industry, scientific academic departments, the NIH and current and future scientists. The main March for Science took place in Washington DC, but there were reportedly over 600 marches globally.
